PORT MORESBY - Prime Minister Peter O’Neill has termed as incorrect and baseless an Australian television report saying $1.7 billion of Australian taxpayers’ money was being stolen from PNG’s budget annually.
The report claimeed that the money was for aid to PNG.
O’Neill called on the Australian government and AusAID to correct the misinformation campaign by uninformed Australian journalists and the media in Australia who have never been to PNG to appreciate and understand PNG’s national affairs.
He said 7’s “Today Tonight” report on PNG money laundering was “factually incorrect”. [TheNational]
