Brawl Between Mollucas Communities Leaves One dead, Injures 28 in Timika

TIMIKA (MIMIKA) - A brawl between two Mollucas communities, which ran from Sunday until Tuesday, in Timika Regency, ended with one dead and 28 others wounded.
“Until now, the situation is still tense. The two camps have not reached peaceful solution,” Papua Police spokesman Sr. Comr. Sulistyo Pudjo in Jayapura said on Wednesday.
Pudjo said the police along with religious and informal leaders were currently approaching leaders of the two communities to make peace.
He said the brawl, which originated from a fight, left Pieter Fautngil, 37, dead after he suffered wounds to his head and stomach. A house was burned down during the brawl. [TheJakartaPost]
